Academy is an initiative started by our friends at [e-spres-oh], they are offering introductory web development courses to students and the increasing number of people interested in a career change.

We were initially contracted to handle the logo and branding for this project, but ended up designing the entire website. The main requests for the website were the need to look friendly and present what courses are available, but flexible enough to accommodate future courses.

Constant communication was key in order to deliver the final version of the logo, it needed to be playful in order to appeal to beginners, but still retain a pedantic air related to the project objective. After a few versions that missed the mark, Andrei designed the final version that achieved that blend of academic playfulness.

Regarding the art direction, the client loved the proposed theme of colorful illustrated animals. Due to the short project timeframe we couldn’t handle that part, so the illustrations were handled by the cool guys at X3, who did a great job.
